Editorial policy
The rules every Natural World guide follows, from the first source to the last correction.
Last updated: September 29, 2026
1. Sources
We rely first on official health guidance (NHS, NICE, EFSA, the UK Food Standards Agency) and on peer-reviewed research (PubMed, Cochrane reviews). We read the abstract and the conclusion of every study we cite, not just its title.
We do not use Wikipedia, brand marketing pages or other blogs as evidence. Brand pages are only used for product facts such as ingredients and dose.
2. Figures and claims
- Every figure has a source. A dose, a percentage or a duration without a source is removed.
- We say when evidence is thin. Many natural remedies, including homeopathy and flower remedies, have little or no clinical evidence behind them. We state this clearly.
- No health promises. We follow the UK rules on nutrition and health claims and never suggest a remedy cures or prevents a disease.
3. Checking before publication
Before a guide goes live, it is checked again against this policy: every source link opened, every figure compared with its source, every recommended product confirmed on sale in the UK with the ingredients we describe. A guide that fails a check is not published until it is fixed.
4. Products and affiliate links
Some links on the site are affiliate links: we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. No brand pays to be included or to rank higher. How we rank products is explained in our method, and the details of our commercial links are in our affiliate disclosure.
We never claim to have tested a product unless we actually did, and we never publish invented reviews, testimonials or expert quotes.
5. Dates and updates
Each guide shows the date it was published. An “Updated” date only appears when the content has really been reworked: new evidence, a corrected figure, a product replaced.
6. Corrections
If you think something is wrong, contact us with the page and the point in question. We check every report. If we got it wrong, we correct the article and update its date.
7. Independence
Natural World is written by the Natural World editorial team. It is an independent publication, not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Nelsons or any brand mentioned on this site.
Our guides are for general information. They are not a substitute for advice from a doctor, pharmacist or other qualified health professional.
